In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, Operation Veterans Care (OVeC) stands with the people of Jamaica—especially our children, families, and persons living with disabilities—who have been deeply affected by this disaster.
Operation Veterans Care (OVeC) is a registered nonprofit organization in Jamaica, dedicated to supporting children, families, and persons living with disabilities.
What This Means:
Our registration with both the COJ and the DCFS means that OVeC operates under governmental oversight with full legal standing to collect donations, provide aid, and partner with local and international agencies.
We are required to maintain accurate financial records, submit annual reports, and ensure transparency in all our charitable operations.
This ensures that every dollar, package, or volunteer effort entrusted to OVeC is accountable, traceable, and directed toward legitimate humanitarian relief — including our Hurricane Melissa Relief and Recovery Program.
You may contact those organizations to verify our credential.

Participation in National Relief Efforts Following Hurricane Melissa
Operation Veterans Care (OVeC) acknowledges with gratitude the recent communication from the Department of Co-operatives and Friendly Societies (DCFS) under the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, regarding our willingness to participate in Jamaica’s national relief efforts following Hurricane Melissa.
We extend our deepest solidarity to all Jamaicans affected by this devastating event. As a registered charitable organization committed to serving children, families, and vulnerable communities, OVeC is honored to support the coordinated national response.
After careful review, OVeC has formally accepted the invitation from DCFS to be official listed as a certified nonprofit organization willing to partner with individuals and other organizations.
We will therefore be partnering with individuals and groups—both locally and internationally—who wish to contribute to Jamaica’s recovery. This includes persons who want to support relief efforts but do not wish to establish their own nonprofit organization. Through OVeC, these supporters can confidently ensure that their donations and contributions reach those who need them most.

Our relief and recovery efforts focus on providing food, clothing and bedding, medical supplies, hygiene and sanitation essentials, and emotional support to those most in need. Together with our partners, donors, and volunteers, we are committed to rebuilding homes, restoring hope, and renewing communities across the island. You MAY also donate money.
💙 Every item you give helps a child or family rebuild after the storm.
If you are in Kingston, St. Andrew, or surrounding areas, you can help support (If you are able) Operation Veterans Care (OVeC) as we collect non-perishable foods, clothing, bedding, toys, and hygiene supplies for children and families affected by Hurricane Melissa.
📦 Ways to Give:

Operation Veterans Care (OVeC) expresses heartfelt appreciation to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (FLDJJ) for their generous donation of non-perishable food, clothing, and school supplies in support of our Hurricane Melissa Relief and Recovery Efforts.
Your compassion and partnership remind us that caring for others transcends distance and borders. Together, we are bringing hope to children and families in Jamaica who were impacted by the storm.
🇯🇲💚 Thank you, FLDJJ — your kindness helps rebuild lives and restore faith in the power of community.

Dear Fellow Jamaicans,
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, our hearts are heavy—yet they remain full of hope. The storm has tested our resilience, shaken our communities, and disrupted countless lives. But even in the midst of loss, one truth shines brighter than ever: nothing can wash away the strength and spirit of the Jamaican people.
At Operation Veterans Care (OVeC), we stand in deep solidarity with every family, child, and elder who has been affected. Our team is already mobilizing to provide assistance—food, clothing, bedding, as well as emotional and psychological support. We know recovery takes time, and we want you to know that you are not alone.
Let us take this moment to reach out to one another—to check on our neighbors, comfort the vulnerable, and rebuild not only our homes but also our collective spirit. Whether you are in Kingston, St. Ann, Montego Bay, or Portland, we are one people under one flag, and together we will rise again.
To those who have lost much, we offer our prayers, compassion, and tangible support. To those who have stepped up to help, we say thank you—your generosity embodies the true heart of Jamaica.
As we move forward, may we rebuild with faith, wisdom, and unity. Let us remember that from every storm, a new sunrise awaits.
With love, care, and unwavering commitment, we extend our hands to help rebuild lives and restore hope.
With deepest compassion,
