URGENT! Mr. Paul Mullings is a 34-year-old Jamaican who is the father of three young children (Ages 7, 6, and 4 - in 2025). He was recently diagnosed with T-cell leukemia-lymphoma stage 4, which made him unable to work; hence, he is unable to support himself and his family. Medication is over J$80,000 every 21 days.
About Operation Veterans Care
About Us
- Operation Veterans Care (OVeC) was founded in 2024 by Dr. Canute White, Nyjole Christie-White, and Enid White after they became concerned about the struggles faced by many needy Jamaicans. Recognizing the need for increased access to health care, food, and housing resources, the trio established OVeC as a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting Jamaicans who find themselves in difficult circumstances. OVeC aims to provide tailored support to help individuals regain their independence. The organization was registered with the Company Office of Jamaica and the Department of Co-operatives and Friendly Societies (DCFS). Hence, we are a recognised Jamaican charitable organization.
Our Team
- Our team consists of individuals with diverse backgrounds in psychotherapy, child welfare, public administration, social work, nursing, hospitality, insurance, and other areas of expertise. This variety equips us to effectively understand and support those in need. We are passionate about promoting the welfare and wellness of Jamaicans.
Dr. Canute White - President/CEO/Founder
- Dr. Canute White is a dedicated Jamaican scholar who made the courageous decision to migrate to the United States. Throughout his journey, he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experiences, which he now shares with others. With over 26 years of service in the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), Dr. White transitioned into the role of dean of discipline within the Jamaican high school system, where he committed himself to fostering a safe and supportive environment for students. He later continued this mission at the community college level as the Director of Safety and Behavioral Management, overseeing five campuses and ensuring that students receive the guidance they need. Dr. White's compassion extends beyond education; he has served as a child protective investigator in New York City and Florida, advocating for vulnerable children and families in crisis. As a Florida Notary Public and a former Justice of the Peace in Jamaica, he has taken on roles that allow him to give back and support his community in meaningful ways. His educational journey is extensive, holding a Bachelor of Science in Counseling, a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, and a Master of Science in Organizational Studies from Northern Caribbean University and the University of the West Indies. He further enhanced his academic achievements with a Master of Public Administration and a Doctorate in Education, focusing on Organizational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University, along with a graduate degree in Child Protection and Juvenile Justice. Fueled by his deep passion for helping people navigate their adversities, Dr. White launched his podcast, Chanyouth's Exploration. Through heartfelt interviews, he connects with individuals facing health and social challenges, aiming to empower them and provide valuable insights for resilience. His empathetic approach is rooted in his own experiences; as a young man at St. George's College in Kingston, Jamaica, he was honored to serve as president of the Jamaica Red Cross Youth Group, which ignited his lifelong commitment to philanthropy. Dr. White’s journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication to uplifting and supporting those around him, helping them overcome life's challenges with compassion and understanding.
Nyjole Christie-White: Cofounder, Chief Operations Officer, and Secretary.
- Nyjole Christie-White is a warm-hearted Jamaican currently living in the United States. As the wife of a veteran, she understands the values of service and compassion, which she pours into her philanthropic endeavors. With many years of experience in the hospitality industry, she pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Technology, blending academic knowledge with hands-on experience. Her background also includes roles in customer service and shipping logistics in Jamaica, along with training in supervisory management at the University of the West Indies (UWI). Mrs. White's heartfelt passion for children drives her belief that every child deserves proper nutrition and a safe, loving place to call home. She is particularly devoted to supporting those with special needs and those entangled in the juvenile justice system, recognizing the unique challenges they face. Her commitment is to help these children find their voices and become active, engaged members of society, creating a brighter future for them all.
Enid White-Evans: Cofounder, General Manager, and Treasurer.
- ENID WHITE-EVANS is a compassionate Jamaican, currently residing in her home country, which allows her to connect directly with fellow Jamaicans facing hardships. As the General Manager, she is wholeheartedly dedicated to providing hands-on support to fulfill the organization's philanthropic mission at the local level, managing the devoted teams and operations with care and understanding. Enid brings a wealth of knowledge from the insurance and financial sectors, where she continues to make a meaningful impact. Her journey began with secretarial studies at the Jamaica School of Business, where she became a certified professional secretary. She further solidified her expertise by becoming a certified insurance professional through her education at the Insurance College, specializing in General Insurance and taking a course in money laundering. Enid's exceptional customer service skills stem from her rich experience in the insurance industry and her educational background at Heart Trust/NSTA. She has also completed tertiary studies in supervisory management. Mrs. White-Evans truly enjoys serving others and holds a deep passion for ensuring the well-being of those she helps. She consistently goes above and beyond to support individuals in need of life’s essentials. Enid forms meaningful partnerships with other nonprofit organizations and community resource entities to uplift her clients, as she is profoundly touched by their struggles and strives to make a positive difference in their lives.

WHAT WE DO
- **WHAT WE DO** We partner with various organizations, businesses, associations, communities, other nonprofits, and individuals in Jamaica and other countries to provide comprehensive care services to Jamaicans in need. Our mission includes: - Assisting Jamaicans in obtaining medical care and resources for a healthy and relatively comfortable lifestyle. - Building and repairing homes for the homeless in Jamaica with the support of our partners and volunteers. - Providing groceries and food for Jamaicans who are unable to feed themselves and their families. - Offering therapeutic assistance to those in need through our partners. - Helping Jamaicans find employment or training opportunities with support from our partners. - Supporting the care, welfare, and protection of children who are unsafe in their homes, homeless, or neglected.
**HOW IT WORKS**
- - We identify needy Jamaicans through referrals, self-contact, and other means.
- - We assess the most critical challenges that prevent these individuals from becoming economically and physically self-sufficient.
- - We work collaboratively with those in need to establish goals that will eliminate or reduce the barriers to self-sufficiency.
- - We connect individuals with relevant partners who can assist in achieving these goals.

PILLARS OF SERVICES
- 1. Child Protection in Juvenile Justice - We collaborate with the Jamaican child welfare agency and the school system to provide services to children at risk of neglect, abuse, or abandonment in their homes. Additionally, we partner with the juvenile justice system in Jamaica to ensure the safety and successful reintegration of juveniles leaving the justice system. To achieve our mission, we also work with churches and community leaders.
- 2. Family Strength and Enhancement - Our focus is on the strengths of families to help them regain economic self-sufficiency while addressing their essential needs, such as food and shelter. We utilize a SWOT analysis framework to guide our approach with families. Partnering with local businesses and family-oriented organizations is key to accomplishing our goals.
- 3. Health and Wellness Support - Many families face challenges when the primary breadwinner is ill and unable to work. Additionally, numerous individuals cannot afford medications or medical services. We assist these individuals by providing support for purchasing medications and accessing essential health services. We also offer necessary items related to specific illnesses, such as adult diapers and special dietary needs. If needed, we may initiate a GoFundMe campaign on behalf of the family. Collaboration with community organizations and leaders is vital to our efforts.
- 4. Shelter and Accommodation Support - Numerous families in Jamaica are experiencing homelessness. Our goal is to assist these individuals by connecting them with community resources for temporary accommodation. We may also help with building materials through our partners, which could include referrals to other nonprofit organizations. Under this service pillar, we also help with household items such as small appliances and essential pieces of furniture.
